Welcome to A Million Miracles.

In February of 2008 I was diagnosed with an incurable, progressive and terminal condition called Idiopathic Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). In retrospect, we can trace this illness back to at least January of 2004, but you can have it for several years before you notice any symptoms. My diagnosis came after I was hospitalized for what ended up being almost three weeks - spent consecutively in three different hospitals - two of them being in ICU units. Over the past year we have been sending email updates to family and friends concerning my medical/physical journey as well as lessons I'm learning as a result.

These are those emails. There's no rhyme or reason as to when I send out another email update. It just happens when "the Spirit moves." But whenever I write and send one, I will also post it on this blog.

#1 - First Two Emails Sent

Date Sent: Sat, Feb 16, 2008 at 10:47 AM

All,

I wanted to send a email out giving a update on what has happened with Julia.

Background:

On Thursday Julia had a doctors appointment. At the appointment there was enough of a concern by the doctors that they had Julia admitted to the hospital. They proceeded to do a gazillion tests. They had thought that it was the start of what she had when Alex was born (HELLP syndrome). It turned out to be something different. They also noticed that her Oxygen level had dropped down to 62% (normally mid 90%) she was put on oxygen and has remained on oxygen since then. A blessing through all this is that the baby has not been impacted by any of this.

Current news:

They assume she has a blood clot in her right lung, and the left side of her heart is not working to its full capacity. They are calling it a-typical pulmonary embolism (one test says that she doesn't have a blood clot in her lung, but they think it was wrong). At this point we believe she will remain in the hospital till the baby is born (though that may change) . The plan is to keep her on oxygen as when she is taken of for only a few seconds her o-sat levels drop to the low 70's.

Your prayer would be much desired as we forge through this difficult time. Please also keep Alex in prayer as he understands his mother is sick. We thank the Lord for the great doctors that have been placed around Julia to care for her.

She is not able to have visitors at this time.

Aaron

All, Aaron here.

I wanted to give a update on the situation.

Julia was moved on Monday night to Pittsburgh's Magee hospital Hospital. Julia was intubated almost right away and has remained so since. This is so that they are able to give Julia her a drug that works very well with what they have diagnosed her with, primary pulmonary hypertension.

With anyone that has been diagnosed with this they should NEVER be pregnant. Well we didn't know till she was 34 weeks pregnant. That said they did a C-section and at 10:53 Tuesday the 19th our son Harrison Field Feitner was born. He will remain in NICU do to being a preme. Harrison is healthy and we are expecting his release in 7 to 10 days.

She has remained in a heavy sedated state till this evening when she was transfered again to UPMC Presbyterian, just up the block. This location is a one of the fore-most hospitals on pulmonary hypertension. They will be putting her through a battery of tests to see if they can put her on a different regiment that does not require being on intubation.

Please keep her in your prayers as she goes through this tomorrow.

If you have any questions please email me, and I will try to respond. It may take me a bit of time so be willing to wait.

Aaron
